Daily Life / Motherhood

Seasons

I love being productive. I organize my workload into daily lists, and I love the feeling of marking everything off by the end of the day.

But lately everything has been a struggle, especially cooking, and I find myself on the couch more often than I’d like, either sleeping or trying to keep lunch where it belongs.

It’s hard, but I’m learning to give myself grace in this season. To not feel badly if PB &J is all I can manage for lunch or the floor doesn’t get swept for a whole week.

I will be energetic and productive again, but not right now. For now I will stay on the couch if I need to, thankful for the tiny life inside and reading stories to my other children until my throat is sore.

It can be really hard for me to remember, but life goes in seasons. The things that are hard now will probably not be an issue in a few months. This too shall pass.

  1. You are mothering the new baby every minute of your life right now, along with everyone else during waking hours:). And just did a move:). The Lord knows how hard you make the best use of your time:).
“ Choosing to be a servant-mother means willingly giving up myself, expectations and time to the task of mothering- and choosing to believe that doing so is the best use of my time at that moment.” – Sally Clarkeson
