Living At A Construction Site

The last week Andy has been working a few days an hour and a half away up in Sterling. With a three hour drive to and from work every day he’s been leaving around 6:30 am and getting home around 8 pm. What an extremely long day that makes! Plus he hardly gets to see the children.

So now that the crew is ready for framing and will be working back to back until the house is under roof, we decided it was worth it to just move up there for a week or so.

Andy had done some work on Matt’s motor home so we were able to borrow it free of charge to live in. Sure is easier than tent camping for a week with youngsters!

We are parked here at the work site and it’s been fun to watch the walls go up and have evenings and mornings together. One downside of the motor home is that it’s hard to really block off the windows so since it stays light almost 24 hours the children don’t go to sleep. Last night it was around midnight (still light out!) that they finally conked out. Andy and I take turns sitting up making sure that they stay in their beds. Thankfully Andy doesn’t have to drive to work so we sleep in as much as we can in the mornings.

It’s a lot of work to move away for the week, but it’s totally worth it.
