Projects Around The Cabin

Andy has been busy outside for the most part, cleaning up brush and trees as we try to get a meadow cleared in front of the cabin.

He’s also been building shelves and a fishing rack for or underground shipping containers to try to organize the storage.

Other days he’s been doing some projects in here, and the house looks way better for it!

Fishing pole rack. He thought he’d make it plenty big, but had forgotten he had so many fishing poles!!

Coat hooks. Rough, but they sure are better than none! Plus, we like the rustic look.

Bench to put boots under.

It sure feels like we’re moving up in the world! We have a bathroom sink now!! With a mirror! I feel wealthy.

He also took the time to make Gabe a play gun. Gabe has been busily shooting bears and moose ever since.

Gabe has a bed now!! No more mattress on the floor.

Andy also put up our wind turbine to generate electricity on windy days. It only fell once, and thankfully just got him on the shoulder. I watched nervously from the window.

He made these boxes to organize his tools. When I raved about them, he spent the next day making me some to organize my canned goods. Aren’t they cute?

And last but not least, as of last Friday, WE HAVE HOT WATER AGAIN!!!! We finally got the right part in and now we don’t have to heat all our water on the stovetop.

Doing without something can make you really appreciate it once it’s back, and I’ve been feeling so spoiled this last week to just be able to turn the faucet to ‘hot’ and have hot water come out! Lucky lucky me!!
