How To Have Adventures

Adventure is pretty much just taking big risks and seeing what happens. So if you want an adventure, take a risk!

Take for example The Suburban. (Yes, it does need capitals)

This peice of junk was formerly owned by Matt Snader, a guy from church. In a fit of randomness, Matt decided to drive The Suburban into the Muskeg (swampy, spongy area) to see how far it would go.

Well, it made it pretty far, but then it got dreadfully stuck and refused to go any further.

So there it sat for a year.

When we moved up, Matt said we could have The Suburban for free if we could get it out of the Muskeg.

And what would we want with such a falling apart old vehicle you might ask?

Three Reasons –

1. It’s four wheel drive, which is practically a necessity around here.

2. It has quite a bit of space inside for hauling boards and such.

3. It’s hard to turn down a free vehicle, especially when there is a challenge involved.

The Suburban is definitely an adventure maker. When you drive it, you are never sure where it will break down and leave you sitting.

It’s a real thrill to know that at any minute the thing could fall apart and leave you in the middle of nowhere at the mercy of the wild animals that roam this land.

So if you want some adventure in your scheduled and boring life, get out there and take some risks!

  1. More story please.

    1. How bad was it stuck? Really
    2. How did you get it out?
    3. Has it left you stranded yet? ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. 1. It was stuck badly enough that it had to be lifted out of the ruts it was in.
      2. This was accomplished with a track skid loader.
      3. It has not left us stranded yet. Since it is not registered, and we are not sure it is worth the money to do that, we plan instead to use it to pull stumps out. ๐Ÿ˜Š
