Sunday morning I came downstairs to find Andy packing clothes for the children.
“We’ll drop them off at the babysitter’s after church, and then drive to Homer,” he told me. “I booked a hotel on the beach to celebrate our anniversary.”
What a treat! How sweet and thoughtful of him! Our room had a small deck and a picture window overlooking the ocean and mountains. Two plush chairs sat beside the window and we sat there sipping our coffee on Monday morning as we watched the boat traffic on the Bay.
I didn’t have to plan anything, or cook, or care for little people, and it was the ultimate relaxing experience.
We spent a lot of time walking along the beach, talking and dreaming and just enjoying uninterrupted time as a couple.
After all, we were husband and wife before we were parents, and that relationship needs priority sometimes.
Good for you! It’s always special to spend time away like that.
I love it!
