I don’t make desserts very often. Some days just getting supper on the table at 5:30 takes about all the effort I’m willing to put in when there is so much to do outside.
But I do really love chocolate. So every once in a while I pull out my blender and whip up some easy chocolate mousse and although it doesn’t take much time, we feel pampered and our chocolate cravings are totally satisfied.
It only takes four ingredients, so it’s really simple to whip up, and the froth on top with the underlying creaminess is just perfect for those late night “dates” when the children are tucked in bed.
Easy Chocolate Mousse
1 12 oz bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 pinch of salt
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups hot milk
Put the chocolate chips, eggs and a pinch of salt in the blender. Heat the milk until scalded, then pour into the blender on top of everything. Let sit 1 minute. Blend 1 minute and pour into cute glass dishes, or goblets, or whatever you have handy like I do.
Refrigerate at least one hour.
Best topped with whipped topping.
Sounds delicious!! Too bad my husband isn’t a chocolate fan…
