Me sporting my 17 week baby bump

With our lives actually slowing down a bit more now, I have been realizing how badly I am doing at taking care of myself and the baby. Not good when you are considering a birth at home and want to be in top physical condition!

So I have been taking time to take walks, which is actually a very valid form of excercise. When it is 14 degrees out, you either move quickly or freeze solid!

This was taken at nine AM. It was just getting light. The Alaskan predawn is so pretty, and the stars at night are so bright!

I used to laugh when I heard stories of moms who hid in the bathroom to eat a snack, but now I totally empathize. I think I would do the same thing if our bathroom had a door on it!

We have been teaching Gabe to eat at mealtimes and only have one snack after naps. Which is great unless he sees me eating snacks to curb the morning sickness.

I’ve tried to explain to him that Mommy needs to eat food for the baby, but then he just pulls up his shirt and thinks he has a baby in his belly too. Hmmmm. Maybe I should go hide in the bathroom after all!
