Last time I wrote we were sitting at home in Alaska frustrated because our flights had been canceled and we were unable to fly to PA on Sunday as planned.
And that’s where I left it.
But meanwhile we woke everyone up and left home Monday night at 11 pm, loading the van in the last dusky light.
We drove through the night on the almost empty highway through the mountains and barely missed hitting a lynx that decided to run across the road last minute at 1 AM.
We arrived at the airport at 3 AM, and after checking in (it worked this time!) we got through security and began our journey east!
After almost 24 hours of travel we spent a couple days with Andy’s parents catching up on sleep and enjoying the warmth and green spring things in central PA. Over the weekend Andy’s siblings and their families descended on the farm and we had a lovely loud and rambunctious time catching up. There were 19 grandchildren present, 10 of which were under 5 years old.
On Sunday afternoon we began the drive to Ohio, and after a few stops to comfort Jasper and eat supper at Cracker Barrel, we made it to my folks place around 9:30 PM.
This week we’re chatting in between planning for my sister’s wedding this weekend. It’s been so so nice to catch up with old friends and spend time with family again. I’m glad everything worked out and we could come after all!
Thankyou for updating us!
