Last week we dug our potatoes! The plants had been frosted and died back so one evening we just dug in! I’m terrible at guessing amounts, but Andy thinks we got around 200 pounds. Not too bad for our first garden!

That’s a lot of potatoes! I wonder too how they kept them. I’m scared ours will rot before we get them all eaten.
I like reading your posts. And what you are doing. I was reading my grandpa ‘s letter from Ohio to Kansas to his parents in 1940. They began their family around 1910. Had 8 boys , and 1 girl living. Some of the boys were not even at home any more. In September he wrote that they got 80 bushels of potatoes. There are 60 lbs in a bushel. I asked my dad where they kept them all.
