Odds N Ends

It’s been a busy last couple weeks. Andy put in my kitchen cupboards and now the cabin has such a finished feeling.

Everything has a place and is hidden by doors. It really makes it feel less chaotic in the kitchen.

On Monday Gabe turned four! We were going to have friends over for Gabe’s birthday supper, but Oscar had pink eye and they didn’t want to be exposed. So we celebrated quietly with just our own little family and some cake and ice cream.

Tuesday we did some Salmon fishing down in Homer. The King Salmon are just starting to run so things weren’t very lively.

There was a cold wind blowing off the ocean and I had of course forgotten essential outdoor gear to keep everyone warm. So after making a few dandelion chains and finding some shells, the children and I ended up staying in our vehicle eating the packed lunch. At least we had a good view of Andy and could see some fish jumping.

Last night we dug up the raised beds, added some fishy peat, and planted some onions, carrots, beets, cabbage, spinach, and lettuce. Hopefully we’ll get the rest of the garden planted later this week. We haven’t had a garden in two years and I am so excited about doing one again!

Today we are headed up the road once again to do some errands and go to a midwife consultation to talk about what we’d like to do this pregnancy/birth.

It has been a very hodgepodge type of week and after being gone the last two days I’m ready to stay home for a while!
