An Art Gallery, A Trip, And Berry Picking

On Monday we played tourist and showed our guests (Andy’s parents and sister) around our area.

We visited the local art gallery and while I normally don’t enjoy that kind of thing, this was amazing! The artist, Norman Lowell, painted Alaskan landscapes and did an amazing job capturing the beautiful mountains and water. There were also some beautifully carved moose antlers and whale bone.

Then we headed down to Homer for some gorgeous views of the mountains and Cook Inlet.

We got a big pizza to share for supper

After doing some sightseeing we drove five hours up to Elaine’s area to visit up there for a couple days. We did some berry picking and hiking up in Hatcher Pass. I didn’t get pictures, but it is one of the prettiest places I’ve seen so far in Alaska!

We went to a lake last evening and I got to kayak for the first time. It was beautiful with the mountains surrounding the clear water and the sunset.

  1. I loved this post, especially all the pictures! I’m so glad you’re able to spend quality time with your company. What berries were you picking? Blueberries, or something else? We should talk.
