Wow, it is so good to look back sometimes and realize just how far you’ve come.
Last year at Thanksgiving we were planning to move to Alaska the coming May, but nothing was coming together for it. We weren’t sure if we’d be able to move in 2017 or not!
God has brought us so far and we are thankful.
Thankful for safety on the 4,400 mile trip up.
Thankful that we did NOT just try to fix up the house that was here. That was the original plan, but the more we tore it down the more we realized how bad the structure really was.
Thankful for all the people who helped us build. Andy hadn’t had much construction experience so it was a relief when people came to help who knew what they were doing! Things really moved along then!
Thankful to be together.
Thankful for family who traveled long distances to help on the cabin and visit with us.
Thankful for Alaska’s beauty. We saw the northern lights last night, and it is just awesome to drive to church and see the ocean and the mountains across the inlet. Gorgeous.
Thankful for progress even when it felt slow.
Thankful that Andy broke his hip instead of his neck. It really could have been so much worse!!
Thankful for all the prayers and encouragement during recovery.
Thankful for all the people who pitched in to help us get the cabin ready to move into.
Thankful for two healthy children… And one more on the way!
Thankful that God has been with us every step of the way, even when it hasn’t been easy.
We are overflowing with thankfulness this season as we look back and realize what a great God we serve.
What are you thankful for this year? Comment below, we’d love to hear from you!
I’m thankful for long term friends, and new friends, and God’s faithfulness in ensuring growth! I’m also thankful that you married Andy, and I got to spend the last few weeks you were in Pa close to you all. I’m not so thankful that you’re all the way in Alaska, . . . but I am thankful that I’m sad about that and not glad. . .: )
Thank you for your posts
I’m thankful for this blog and the ways it’s helped to keep us more in tune to your world so far away… As well as your faithfulness in writing and keeping us posted.
Looking at your last picture made me cry. I haven’t seen many pictures of Andy with crutches. I’m SO thankful he still with you and with us.
Love you guys!
I haven’t actually gotten many pictures of him on his crutches. We are both ready for him to be able to walk again. Only a little over three weeks now and he can start putting weight on it!
So thankful for music! “I owe the Lord a morning song, of gratitude and praise. For the kind mercy He has shown , in lengthening out my days”.
Yes, what would the world be like without music? I love the coziness of turning on my favorite songs and singing along while I do the housework.
I am thankful that you did this so I can tell all my friends about my brother and his wife. 🙂

Glad to have given you a good topic for conversation, Mel. 😂
I’m thankful for people who are thankful. ( :
