It is so great to have my brothers here! Andy and I are in Anchorage all day today for Andy’s two week check up and then to pick up my parents from the airport late tonight. The cool thing is, even though we are gone, the work on the cabin keeps progressing!
They are very easy keepers too. All they ask in return for their labors is lots and lots of salmon. They can’t seem to get enough of it! We’ve been having salmon every day, fried, breaded, baked. We don’t mind – we like it too!
Here are some pics from the last week. Andy was pretty happy to figure out he can still cut boards standing on one leg and also hand them up to Josiah who was putting in the loft.
Keeping him from overdoing it is rather difficult.
A fire in the stove keeps the cabin cozy while we work.
Our loft!
Our entourage in Home Depot. Andy in a handicapped chair, Silas pushing the big cart, and me and the children in a car cart. We can spend a LOT OF TIME in that store. I call it our home away from home.
Tongue and grove going up on the interior walls.

Andy got his bandage off and more instructions to NOT PUT ANY WEIGHT ON HIS FOOT for three months. It sounds like he’ll have to do a lot of physical therapy after that, but thankfully the doctor is very hopeful that Andy will be able to return to normal with time. Praise the Lord!
